Jerry works on houses and fields new client calls referred by his custom website, while Joelle now balances their books in a fraction of the time. Heaps of old contracting paperwork can be scanned into easy-to-find digital files, accessible on any computer in the house, as well as Jerry's mobile device. And in her new-found downtime, Joelle can convert her classic cassette tape collection to mp3s, or download new albums in seconds from emusic.com.
No more watching movies through a travel-size DVD player and hushing to hear the dialogue. With their new surround sound home theater system, the Irvings can crank up their high-def Blu-Ray flicks to room-shaking levels. Their living room is a VIP box every game day, with FiOS HDTV so crisp they can see every raindrop hitting the QB's helmet.
Joelle can boogie before a fully mirrored wall, record herself with a remote-controlled, ceiling-mounted camera while checking the angle on her networked 42" plasma HDTV, then upload the dance lesson video to her new website. Frosted glass doors slide away to reveal another 42" plasma, and NordicTrack elliptical and strength-training machines. iFit cards plug in for customized workouts that are controlled and monitored by computer, while the special software on Jake's home health station keeps track of his diabetes.
