No longer clustering around one small TV and adjacent computer, the Zaharkos now have some elbow room in two distinct entertainment and work areas. Mom gets her very own computer she can use to schedule the family chores on her new custom built website, which she also can check on the go with her new wireless PDA. Emily's got her own computer, too, with a touch-screen interface designed to suit her special needs. The other side of the room features a 52" LCD HDTV with Surround Sound system and BluRay DVD player. It's still a bit of a squeeze watching a movie with 11 people, though...good thing it's not the only gigantic TV in the house....

Stadium seating for 9 kids is cleverly shaped like a hot rod, which rolls away in two pieces when more party space is needed. A remote-controlled screen has 92 diagonal inches ready to be filled with the latest in FiOS TV high-def movies, shows and sports, all from a ceiling-mounted digital projector that's wired into a booming Surround Sound system. Completing the fun drive-in movie motif is a candy stand with popcorn machine, an old-style drive-in speaker, and a silhouette mural that makes the basement feel like a moonlit August night, any month of the year.

KIDS COMPUTER AREA

The kids have their choice of three computer workstations, separated by cubicle walls so they can concentrate on studying (or watching FiOS TV with wireless headphones...for school projects, of course.) But what if, say, Liz starts her homework, has to leave, then returns to find Mike in her seat?
