What do YOU think the Techno-Gurus should create for The Royer family's technology home makeover? Get to know our new 2.0 Family from Fort Wayne, Indiana, below, and leave a comment!
Remember the name "The Royer Brothers" -- with a little luck, and a boost from our Techno-Gurus, you just might see it emblazoned on a movie marquee in a few years.
Teenaged sons Cale (18) and Carson (16) have been making movies together for years, and they've gotten pretty darn good at it. Sometimes their movie-making is a full family affair, with dad Gary, an attorney by trade, contributing his musical chops to the soundtracks, and mom Kay pitching in with wardrobe and props. There's definitely no shortage of talent in the Royer household. Their gear, however, is another story.
Their analog tape-based system would be a pretty sweet setup for home movie production -- if the year were 1989. And even back then, there was probably a better sound booth for voice recording than that renovated cat litter box -- although it does perfectly (purr-fectly?) illustrate Gary's admirable do-it-yourself ethic.
A faster, more powerful computer could handle the family's video and audio production tasks in a lot less time. Which, in turn, would mean Kay could get some computer time of her own, to stay in touch with relatives and organize events for her neighborhood garden club -- preferably without having to wade through her boys' complicated add-ons just to get online.
Sounds like the Royers need power and simplicity. And a little of that one-of-a-kind Techno-Guru magic couldn't hurt, either. What do you think?

Welcome to the family! Can't wait to see what they do for you. How about a stage with backdrop props and state of the art video equipment? Good luck!

It looks like movie magic to me Can you say animatronic godzilla! I guess technically that would be considered mechagodzilla but I would make it in the fashion of regular godzilla

Wow, that sounds like a lot of work, Brian. Won't you then also have to build a scale model of Fort Wayne for Guruzilla to stomp?
Either way, though, I can do a pretty good Mothra, should my voiceover services be needed...

Hey Royer comment page! I am a friend of the youngest Royer, the ever-talented Carson. I have had many impressive roles in Royer films over the years. You can see me in the "Pope-tart" commercial for example. I also played the role of "Guru Ryan" in the "My Treehouse 1.5" skit. By the way Brian, huge fan, your an inspiration. Anywho, it is really awesome that you are saving the Royers from their technological troubles! Catch you on the flipside.

Hey, right on, Ryan! Welcome to the world of My Home 2.0. I take it you will be there for the big block party to cheer on Carson and the family as their new goodies are revealed? (Fort Wayne block party details coming soon, by the way.)

Being friends of the Royer family, this wonderful opportunity couldn’t happen to a more suited and thankful family. Trust me, over the years ….. I’ve seen every video from the "The Royer Brothers", listened to every piece of music that Gary has mastered, and received an e-mail or two from Kay. What they do with what they have, it’s probably hard for one to fathom how it all gets done. Well, or should I say ….. regularly seeing “behind” the scenes, just don’t get up to go to the bathroom if it’s your ‘computer time’ at the Royer household. So whatever technology improvements are made in the Royer household will be greatly appreciated, that‘s for sure. The Techno-Gurus at My Home 2.0 ROCK !!!!
And Jim, I’m thinking once the "The Royer Brothers" movie credits start rolling at the end of the flick, tucked in there somewhere, we’ll all read - Gary Royer; Score and Soundtrack engineer - Kay Royer; Wardrobe Director. Festival de Cannes, then the Oscars ….. Hopefully we get good seats ;)

Welcome, Susan and Rick! It's always so cool to see each 2.0 Family's community rallying for them. I'm not sure yet what the Gurus have up their jumpsuit sleeves, but they've got a pretty good track record for making people happy so far.
And good point, Rick -- maybe it'll actually be "The Royer Family" we'll be seeing on the marquee one day!

Congrats Royer Family! For video AND audio editing, I recommend Sony Creative Software:
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/
Use one of the Vegas softwares for video editing, and Acid, Soundforge, and Cinescore for audio editing!
For the Gurus: If you want to try the software first, check out this link:

Now t3hbadg3r has to go back to t3h d3n!
