Hi, John. I'm not sure about what's causing that, but I'll see if I can find someone who might know more about it.
In the mean time, if anyone else has experienced this problem and figured out a solution, please post here...and please consider also adding your solution as an article on the FiOS Wiki. Thanks!

John,
I have contacted Sony Support for you and here is what they have asked me to have you check:
Please set the Cable option ON in the Channel Settings of the TV, and then also select the Add Digital Channels in the same Channel Settings of the TV. This should display the over-the-air HD channels on the TV.
They also first asked to be sure that you are plugged into the UHF/VHF input on your TV. I would say this is not your issue since your SD content is coming through with no troubles. This support site allows you to contact them by phone, email, web site support or live chat. There is a lot of good info on Sony’s site.
Also, another really cool web site for you to check out is antennaweb.org. This site will give you the over-the-air channel mapping according to your zip code.
