We have recently recieved technical questions from folks who are re-creating our projects. For those of you new to the site, We have a forum section on the site where you can post your questions, and get them answered by the Guru's. (if we are able to answer em!)
Check it out at www.2pointhome.com/forums
And for those of you in need of one-on-one help, I will be doing a live Ustream Friday right here at 2pointhome.com! I know you are struggling with that technical issue, or want to know more about the Blackberry Storm. Join me Friday and bring your questions!
Its that time of the week again!
No, It's not Peanut Butter and Jelly time. Its time for my pick of Tech Joke of the Week. This week I am sharing something a little more personal.
Engineers are known for thinking outside the box. Well this holds true when thinking of Pick-Up Lines as well.
"Girl, you're sweeter than Glucose!"

My fellow Philadelphians! Let freedom ring!
Liberty is defined as the condition of being free from strict control. However the city that houses the Liberty Bell has had its liberties restricted when it comes to Television Choice.
There is a revolution upon us and it is taking place on a piece of glass the size of a single strand of human hair. It is time that we stand up to the monopolies that dominate our choice for quality Television Service!
(AP)Thursday, November 12th, Verizon asked the City Council of Philadelphia to approve a 15 year video franchise agreement, allowing it to offer FiOS TV in the city. Councilman Darrell Clarke introduced an ordinance to give Verizon the right to run a cable TV service, a measure the council is expected to vote on by the end of the year.
For the good folks of Philadelphia, and the "Ph"ans of My Home 2.0 in Philly who have been watching our show, you are one step closer to having the FiOS power you need to "2 point 0" your home!
Alumni from the High School of Engineering Professions in Houston Texas (or HSEP) have formed a Graduate organization for their beloved Alma Mater. I--being an honored graduate of the program--extended my hand in helping bring the organization to life. Recent changes at the school may affect some of the programs that help so many students succeed. These changes, for example,
have sparked protests to save certain falculty and ciriculum that if were not in place, I would not be the "guru" that I am today.
I am a firm believer in the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it, and if it is broke, try to fix it before you run out and get a new one". As such, I have had a total of 2 different cell phones in my 7 year cell phone career. Some people go through 2 phones a year! For those of you who change phones every time you change the oil in your car, I challenge you to do the "Lloyd Check" before purchasing your next phone.
Up on deck is the Blackberry Storm by Verizon. At first glance, this device looks like an iPhone or G1 clone. Sure all these devices have their unique features, but what sets the Storm apart from the rest of the field? Lets take a closer look.
Howdy!
Its the end of a long week!
We have elected a new President in America, Dee 2.0 has taught us some Email Netiquette (Netiquette is an actual word. I looked it up), Guru Alison's book is in stores, and Brian's Bird is the Word.
If your week has been a rough one, or if you just need some fun words to round off the week, Check out my pick of Tech Joke of the week courtesy of www.jokething.com, and funniest FiOS commercial of the week.
You know you've been online to long when...

I am always looking for interesting ways to integrate technology into common inanimate household objects. This morning I came across a really cool hack that turns an ordinary mirror into a portal into another world.
LitStudios.com turned a full body mirror into an Interactive Interface that not only shows reflections but also has the ablility to display any image a normal computer screen displays!
If you are reading this article via some non-analog method, there is over a 70% chance that you are reading this on a Microsoft branded computer or device. (Unless of course you are the Buckley's or Royer's; We got them an all Mac setup!)
All of you have no doubt seen the recent Microsoft ads featuring comedian Jerry Seinfeld, or the infamous "I am a PC" ads. Well one of the reasons Microsoft is drilling its brand into your scull is that it is preparing for its best Operating System to date: Simply named Windows 7. Windows 7 is an upgrade to Vista. Many folks have had mixed feelings about Vista; I will explain why the new version may bring amends to Vista's woes.

Bird Bird Bird! The Bird is the word!
Building an anamatronic bird was a bit of a challenge for Guru Brian, but he managed to pull it off in record timing! Not only that, he is just in time for Halloween!
Check out the video above on how you can build your own Anamatronic Bird!
I am Brian Albert, and I approve this message.
Brad Lidge has been perfect this season when it comes to closing games, and that held true in game four of the World Series. With the biggest strikeout of the season, Brad Lidge solidified the Phillies place as World Champions of Baseball!
Looking back on this incredible season, I want to take time to thank Ryan Howard, the good folks of Abbington, and the My Home 2.0 Crew who made this a memorable season for me. The hard work everyone put in for the hack-a-bat project, as well as all our other projects has brought joy and entertainment to the lives of many, including mine. Thank You!
The month of October is Energy Awareness Month, and we want to do our part as Techno Guru's to increase your awareness of energy.
Friday October 25th, Brian and I gave a presentation to the John Hopkin's Center for Talented Youth and their parents. We hope that the students enjoyed the demonstrations and hope that both the parents and children left more aware of their energy usage! :)
This morning I awoke to my stomach making some strange noises. Whenever my belly does this, it is letting me know one of three things:
Considering I had the most AMAZING Jerk Chicken, Rice, Greens, and Plantain last night I can easily eliminate number one, and well, as athletic as I am, I can honestly only do 200 pushups a day. So through the process of elimintation I must need those pumpkin seeds!
Alternative Energy is a big topic of discussion these days, and discussions are taking place all over the world about viable sources of clean energy. One form of energy that is one of our favorites here at My Home 2.0 is solar power! (Make sure you check out the solar powered cellphone charger DIY project)
Well with today's technology, Solar Energy can be setup at your home or office. You wont find many "solar farms" like those for wind power, partly because you need a significant number of solar panels to produce enough energy to power a single home. Well if you are a Do it Yourselfer, or you are intersted in investing in solar power for your home, read on.
The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the L.A. Dodgers 5-1 last night in game 4 of the series. With that victory, the Phillies are now one apponent away from becoming Major League Baseball Champions!
The Phillies and good friends of the show Ryan Howard have been on a mad dash for the title since the allstar break, and I am glad I have been along for the ride! The Hack-a-Bat started out as a plan to provide Ryan Howard more information about his swing, and sparked interest amongst folks out there who also want access to that information as well. In this article, I will recap the concepts behind the bat, and ensure that you have what you need to create your own Hack-a-Bat! My only stipulation is that you must not hack the bat of any active player from the Tampa Bay Rays or Boston Red Sox! ;)
Immediately following the Porter reveal, the boys Johnny, Tommy, and Billy wasted no time and dove right in to the technological sea of goodies we blessed them with.
I just hope that the boys are sharing with their sisters, mom and dad. Guru Lloyd doesn't like it when you don't share!
